Job Description:

About Project Blue

Project Blue is an iMessage/SMS communication and marketing platform built for sales and marketing teams. It brings messaging, voice memos, a dialer, analytics, and CRM integrations into one place, connecting to HubSpot, Close, HighLevel, and any external CRM or API. We have a strong product and a clear market (we compete with Sendblue and Linq). We’re a small, technical team, and we’re hiring our first Growth Product Manager to take day to day ownership of both the product and its growth.

The Role

This is a high autonomy, high ownership hybrid role spanning product and go to market. You’ll drive Project Blue day to day, owning the roadmap, keeping the engineering team shipping the right things, and owning the full growth loop: acquisition, activation, retention, and expansion. You’ll work as a self sufficient pod with the engineering team, where you define and prioritize, they build, and together you ship and grow.

We have a product we’re confident in and aren’t yet focused on retaining or systematically growing our user base. Your job is to change that. If you need daily direction to function, this isn’t the role. If you can take a quarterly direction and run with it for weeks at a time, keep reading.

What you’ll own

Product

  • The product roadmap and backlog, translating direction into clearly specced, correctly prioritized work that keeps engineering continuously unblocked
  • The sprint cadence and execution rhythm with the engineering team
  • Customer discovery, talking to users, surfacing insight, and feeding it back into the roadmap
  • Writing specs and acceptance criteria that remove ambiguity so engineers build instead of guess

Growth and Go to Market

  • The full growth funnel, owning acquisition, activation, retention, and expansion as one connected system, instrumented in Amplitude
  • Retention specifically: defining what it means for us, building cohort analysis, and running experiments to improve it
  • Activation and onboarding: mapping the trial to paid funnel, killing friction, and tightening signup to first value
  • Go to market: positioning against Sendblue and Linq, refining messaging and pricing, and finding and scaling the channels that bring in users
  • Running growth experiments end to end (hypothesis, build, measure, iterate) across both product and marketing surfaces
  • Competitive and market intelligence

What we’re looking for

  • High agency. You proactively find and solve problems end to end. You don’t wait to be told, you don’t hand off half finished, and you keep everyone looped in as you go. You own outcomes, not tasks.
  • Strong product sense. You make the right calls by accounting for both the user and the business, not just what’s loudest or easiest, but what actually moves the product forward on both fronts.
  • AI native. You instinctively reach for AI to work faster and smarter, across discovery, analysis, execution, and the product itself. This is how you operate by default, not a skill you’re meaning to pick up.
  • A dual threat across product and growth. You’ve shipped product and moved growth metrics, and don’t think of them as separate jobs
  • Deeply data fluent, comfortable in Amplitude (or similar), defining metrics, and running your own analysis. SQL is a plus
  • Excellent at writing specs, and equally comfortable writing copy, shaping a landing page, or designing an onboarding flow
  • SaaS experience, ideally messaging, martech, CRM, or developer adjacent products
  • Comfortable in a high autonomy remote setup

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with the CRM and sales tooling ecosystem (HubSpot, Close, HighLevel, and similar) and how these products are sold
  • Hands on experience with PLG or self serve growth motions
  • Prior experience as an early or founding product or growth hire

Compensation

$120K base salary plus a meaningful equity package. We compensate below funded startups on cash, and make up for it with real ownership, equity, and end to end autonomy over a product and its growth.

Why this role is unusual

You’ll effectively run a product and its growth, with real ownership across the entire arc from what we build to who’s using it and why they stay. The upside is rare end to end ownership. The cost is that there’s nowhere to hide.
